Accompanying NICCO's medical activities in Rikuzen Takada. (No.27)
Takashi Sawada, MD (Deputy Director, SHARE) and Kanako Koshito, RN (Visit Nursing Station Cosmos) accompanied NICCO, Nippon International Cooperation for Community Development, an organization carrying out medical relief work in Rikuzen Takada.
They visited the Mobiria Shelter, housing about 70 earthquake victims) and Yanoura Community Shelter (30 victims), and assisted with medical examinations.
Medical needs include flu, high blood pressure, and control of chronic diseases. There are also potential needs among senior citizens and victims who cannot come to the shelter or who cannot consult a doctor by themselves. From now on early intervention will be vital," said Koshito.
