David Werner

Representative of HealthWrights(a Non-Profit Organization, in USA), Affiliate professor in the International Public Health Department in Boston University, Biologist, and the founder of International Public Health Committee.
David Werner was born in 1934. Working as a biologist, he began PHC projects with local people in villages where there were no doctors in western part of Mexico in the 1960s. Beginning in the 1980s, he facilitated community based rehabilitation (CBR) for people who became disabled due to car accidents and gun fire. Both projects have exerted extensive influence throughout the world. In recent years, David Werner conducts research and analyzes the influence of free market economies on those who live in developing countries. He also works as an advisor and trainer for healthcare activities in more than 50 countries.
His books include Where There Is No Doctor, Questioning the Solution -The Politics of Primary Health Care and Child Survival-
