
In South Africa, SHARE has established education programs which provide locals with information about HIV/AIDS prevention, encouraging residents to participate as volunteers to help heighten awareness about the disease in their own community. In addition, SHARE provides care and organizes local support groups for HIV-positive patients.

Lepelle-Nkumpi Municipality in the Capricorn District of Limpopo: 12 villages Mikado Municipality in the Bembe district of Limpopo, 100km south of the Zimbabwe border: 23 villages
Target Population:
Immediate targets: HIV patients, local residents, and AIDS orphans Ultimate targets: residents of Lepelle-Nkumpi (population approx. 700,000) residents of Mikado (population approx. 900,000)
